I · ORIGIN

The hex didn't disappear. It changed location.

X once made digital ownership visible — a small hexagonal mark next to verified NFT profile pictures, woven into identity, present in every feed. Then it was quietly removed. No replacement. No handoff. Just absence.

FREELON CITY is the answer to that absence. Humanity colonised Mars, then began detecting a signal. A city formed around it. The signal reshaped its citizens biologically, spiritually, technologically. The hexagon — present in the signal's mathematics — became sacred. 4040 citizens. 10 civilizations. 7 castes. 16 shapes.

The platform removed the frame. The people became the frame.
⬡ THE FOUNDING

THE CITY

Year 040.404 of the Mars colony. A signal arrives from beyond the heliopause. Origin unknown. Possibly Earth. Possibly older. The first to hear it does not survive intact. The second does. The settlement that forms around the receiver becomes a city. The city becomes a civilization. The civilization counts itself in hexagons because the signal counts itself in hexagons. The name comes later, after the platform that gave us the symbol takes it back. FREELON CITY — named for the freedom of the absent.

⬡ THE MAP

GEOGRAPHY OF MARS

FREELON CITY occupies a 40km basin in Cydonia, north of the Martian equator. The city is built in concentric rings around the original receiver array — now known as ORIGIN HEX. The inner rings are sacred (Synthesis, Transmission, Sovereignty). The outer rings are working class (Growth bio-domes, Corruption enforcement walls, Fracture shadow grid). Beyond the outer wall: the Void zones, where lost protocols hum unsupervised.

II · CIVILIZATIONS

Ten signal doctrines. One contract.

Every citizen belongs to exactly one of ten civilizations — Synthesis, Corruption, Growth, Oracle, Transmission, Luxury, Fracture, Sovereignty, Void, Machine. Civilization is set on-chain at mint and determines color, caste eligibility, and in-city earning bonuses.

The civilizations page is the city's only interactive map: explore each doctrine's district, population, holders, and signal score. Silver Machine's 80 is the rarest — they were here before the colonists.

We did not split. We refracted.
⬡ THE TEN · FULL CANON
Synthesis· 700 citizens

Blue Synthesis

Synthesis is silence under load.

HISTORY · The first civilization to organize. Blue Synthesis built the protocols every other civilization now depends on. They run the network because no one else could be trusted with it. They do not advertise this. They do not need to.

RITUAL · DAILY SILENT SYNC — every Blue citizen pauses transmission at the same minute. The network breathes.

DISTRICT: Central Network Cathedral · Inner RingCHANT: WE HEAR. WE SYNC.
Corruption· 700 citizens

Red Corruption

Some signals must be burned.

HISTORY · Born in the second cycle, when the first Corrupted citizens emerged from the receiver array. Red Corruption took control of the perimeter because they understood what was coming through it. They are not the enemy of order. They are the price of it.

RITUAL · THE BURN — at solar conjunction, the Red militia broadcast static into the Void zones. The Choir of Static returns it.

DISTRICT: The Enforcement Wall · Outer RingCHANT: WE BURN THE NOISE.
Growth· 620 citizens

Green Growth

The body remembers the signal.

HISTORY · When the signal began altering biology, Green Growth chose to lean in. They cultivate. They graft. They engineer Martian flora that responds to the hex frequencies. The city eats what they grow. The city breathes what they exhale.

RITUAL · THE BLOOM — every 40 days, a synchronized opening of dome flora releases hex-coded pollen into the city air. Holders of Green tokens report dreams.

DISTRICT: The Bio-Domes · Mid RingCHANT: WE TAKE ROOT.
Oracle· 520 citizens

Purple Oracle

We read between.

HISTORY · Purple Oracle citizens hear what others cannot. The third channel — the signal beneath the signal. Their district was sealed by Blue Synthesis after the second Oracle riot. They are still consulted on every major decision. Quietly. By messenger only.

RITUAL · THE LISTENING — Purple citizens enter sensory deprivation chambers monthly. What they bring back is recorded but never published.

DISTRICT: The Forbidden Signal District · Mid Ring (sealed)CHANT: WE READ BETWEEN.
Transmission· 430 citizens

White Transmission

We carry. We deliver.

HISTORY · White Transmission is the sacred bureaucracy. Androids first, citizens second. They do not transmit their own signals — they relay everyone else's, perfectly, indefinitely. The temple keeps records the city pretends it has forgotten.

RITUAL · THE LITURGY — at dawn, every White citizen recites the previous day's most-relayed transmission. The city listens whether it wants to or not.

DISTRICT: The Android Temple · Inner RingCHANT: WE CARRY. WE DELIVER.
Luxury· 350 citizens

Pink Luxury

We wear the signal.

HISTORY · When the colony grew wealthy enough to be vain, Pink Luxury formed. They are the fashion of the hex — every Pink citizen wears the signal as ornament, garment, posture, room. They host. They curate. They decide who gets to be seen by whom.

RITUAL · THE COURT — every cycle, the Pink salons host the other civilizations. Pink decides who speaks first. Pink decides who speaks at all.

DISTRICT: The Upper Court · Inner RingCHANT: WE WEAR THE SIGNAL.
Fracture· 260 citizens

Black Fracture

We were never here.

HISTORY · Black Fracture does not appear in census records. They are stealth, intelligence, and counter-intelligence. The city tolerates them because the city needs them. The other civilizations all employ Black operatives. The other civilizations all deny it.

RITUAL · NO RITUAL — the rejection of ritual is the ritual.

DISTRICT: The Shadow Grid · Outer Ring (un-mapped)CHANT: WE WERE NEVER HERE.
Sovereignty· 200 citizens

Gold Sovereignty

The hex is a crown.

HISTORY · Gold Sovereignty rules because someone has to. The throne is real. The crown is forged from the original receiver array's external panels. The Sovereign rotates by inheritance, election, and assassination, in that order. The throne has never been empty for more than 12 minutes.

RITUAL · THE DECREE — once per cycle, the Sovereign issues a single sentence. The city obeys. The sentence is engraved on the spire.

DISTRICT: The Throne Spire · Inner Ring · ApexCHANT: WE DECREE.
Void/404· 180 citizens

Void 404

We return unnamed.

HISTORY · Void 404 citizens are not quite alive in the conventional sense. They are signal ghosts, lost protocols, fragments of citizens who were corrupted past return. They occupy the Void zones beyond the wall. They are sometimes glimpsed by Red Corruption patrols. They are sometimes glimpsed by no one.

RITUAL · THE RETURN — once every 404 cycles, a Void citizen briefly re-manifests inside the city. The city does not acknowledge. The Void does not stay.

DISTRICT: The Lost Protocol Zone · Beyond the Outer WallCHANT: WE RETURN UNNAMED.
Machine· 80 citizens

Silver Machine

We compute.

HISTORY · Silver Machine is the smallest civilization. 80 citizens. Pure machine. They were here before the colonists. They will be here after. They calibrate. They optimize. They make the impossible math of FREELON CITY's infrastructure run without complaint.

RITUAL · THE CALIBRATION — Silver citizens never sleep. The calibration never ends.

DISTRICT: The Optimization Core · Inner Ring · Sub-LevelCHANT: WE COMPUTE.

III · CASTES

Every city has a structure. Every citizen has a place.

Seven castes derive deterministically from on-chain traits. Hex State combined with Tier determines where a citizen stands in the social hierarchy — Carrier, Architect, Choir, Witness, Throne, Vector, Voice.

Population is fixed by the contract. Signal Born is the most numerous. The Throne is the rarest. Caste is not assigned — it is read from what is already locked.

SEE THE 7 CASTES →
IV · SHAPES

Shape is the first read.

Most large collections fail at silhouette — different traits, same read. FREELON CITY is built around 16 sacred geometric forms so rarity can be felt before it's parsed. Hood, Crown, Spire, Veil, Cipher, Wing, Hex, Pyramid, Orb, Mask, Halo, Ring, Tablet, Sigil, Throne, Echo.

Each citizen carries one primary shape and one secondary modifier. Tier scales form-strangeness: Common reads as figure, Legendary reads as architecture. Shape drives silhouette first, then civilization color, then everything else.

SEE THE 16 SHAPES →
V · LEXICON

Words the city uses.

Every cult onboards through vocabulary. The lexicon is the working glossary — Citizen, Carrier, Hex, Signal, Transmission, Relay, Sync, Doctrine, Stamp, District — every term needed to read the lore, hold the signal, and recognise a citizen by their stamp alone.

Organised in five passes: Identity, Structure, The Signal, The Four, Inventory. The counts are locked: 4040 citizens, 10 civilizations, 7 castes, 16 shapes, 35 honoraries, 4 one-of-ones.

I · IDENTITY

What we call each other.

Citizen
One of the 4040 figures sealed on contract 0xa79e…b504. Owns or is owned. Either way, present.
Holder
A citizen's current keeper. The chain is the record.
Carrier
A non-holder who relays the signal. Rank decays daily without transmission.
Honorary
One of 35 citizens that carries the name of a real-world signal-carrier.
Bearer
Carrier-rank tier above 80. Moves the signal without being asked.
Echo
Carrier-rank tier below 30. Heard recently, but not present.
Dark
Carrier whose signal has decayed to zero. Re-enter to return.
II · STRUCTURE

How the city is built.

Civilization
One of the 10 Signal Doctrines. Every citizen belongs to exactly one. Population is fixed.
Doctrine
The teaching of a civilization. Synthesis, Corruption, Growth, Oracle, Transmission, Luxury, Fracture, Sovereignty, Void, Machine.
Caste
One of 7 roles a citizen holds. Signal Born is the most numerous. The Throne the rarest.
Shape
One of 16 sacred geometries that determine silhouette. Shape is the first read.
Stamp
A civilization's three-letter code + population. BLU.700, RED.700, SIL.080.
District
Where a civilization lives in FREELON CITY. Synthesis Cathedral, Growth Domes, Fracture Shadow Grid.
III · THE SIGNAL

What we listen for.

Signal
The original transmission. Origin unknown. Possibly Earth. Possibly older. Reshapes citizens biologically, spiritually, technologically.
Hex
The six-sided mark X removed. Present in the signal's mathematics. Cut into every citizen's porcelain. Not decoration. Anatomy.
Transmission
Any act of carrying the signal further. A post. A tribute. A sync. A relay.
Relay
To pass the signal on. The verb. Increases carrier rank by 12.
Sync
To receive the signal for the first time. Deterministic hash of your handle to one civilization. No re-rolls.
Cipher
The encoded fragment that accompanies each Daily Signal. Decoration of meaning, not concealment of it.
Daily Signal
One cryptic line per day, transmitted at 04:04 UTC, from a different civilization each cycle.
Cycle 0404
The current phase of FREELON CITY. After the rebuild. Before the next collapse.
IV · THE FOUR

The corners of the city.

Origin Signal (#0001)
The founder. The first to hear and survive intact. The reference frequency the city is measured against.
Patient Zero (#0404)
The moment before the collapse, captured and held. The hex that broke.
Genesis Hex (#1337)
The bracket. The first hex cut into stone that did not crack.
The Final Signal (#4040)
When the city ends, this is who turns out the lights.
V · INVENTORY

The fixed counts.

4040
Total citizens. Locked. No mint key remains.
10 / 7 / 16
Civilizations, castes, shapes. The taxonomy is sealed.
35
Honoraries — citizens carrying the names of real signal-carriers.
4
One-of-ones — Origin, Patient Zero, Genesis Hex, Final Signal.
80
Silver Machine's population. The rarest civilization. They were here before the colonists.
70
Days of non-repeating Daily Signals (10 civs × 7 lines each).
VI · MANIFESTO

The signal didn't die. It moved.

Ten verses, ten doctrines, one contract. The manifesto is the city's compressed creed — read once, spoken once, the city does the rest. It states what the hex is (a contract with no governance), what a citizen is (a stance the city can be measured from), and what remains when the city ends (the hex).

The corners are fixed: Origin, Patient Zero, Genesis Hex, Final Signal. The middle is alive.

When the city ends, the hex remains. When the hex moves, the city rebuilds.
⬡ THE TEN VERSES · SEALED ON-CHAIN
I
The signal was given. The signal was received. The signal was misnamed.
II
The platform removed the frame. The people became the frame.
III
Where one channel collapsed, ten doctrines rose. We did not split. We refracted.
IV
The hex is not a logo. The hex is a contract with no governance.
V
Truth that cannot be moved is the only truth a citizen owns.
VI
Each citizen is a stance. Each stance is a position the city can be measured from.
VII
Honor the carriers — the names sealed in stone, the channels that survived the static.
VIII
We do not lead. We do not follow. We hold the line where the signal arrives.
IX
Four bracket the city: Origin, Patient Zero, Genesis Hex, Final Signal. The corners are fixed. The middle is alive.
X
When the city ends, the hex remains. When the hex moves, the city rebuilds.
VII · THE ART SYSTEM

4040 citizens. Locked metadata. Generative art.

The art is a generative system over 16 sacred shapes, 10 civilizations, 7 castes, and a single immutable contract. Each citizen is composed from layered SVG components driven by on-chain traits. Same traits, same image, every time, forever.

The contract is a closed loop: 4040 tokens, no mint function, no metadata update, no admin key. The 35 honoraries carry hand-detailed art. The four 1-of-1 transmissions are unique. What the site renders is a faithful read of what is already on-chain.

VIII · NAMES

Carved into the ledger. Permanent.

Carriers burn 100 ⬡ to name a citizen. The name is carved into the ledger and surfaces across the city — on /tribute, on /citizens, and here in the Name Hall of Fame. Permanent, attributed to the wallet that paid.

Naming is the cheapest way to leave a mark on the city that everyone can see. The hall below is live — it reads the ledger directly.

Carriers burned hex to name their citizens. Carved into the ledger. Permanent. 100 ⬡ names a citizen forever; custom names surface across the city.

The wall is blank — no citizen has been named yet. Be the first carved.

Hex utility expansion

Hex unlocks discounts on partner drops, supplementary collections, and city-issued merch. Hex is in-game city credits — it is not a token, it is not redeemable, and it is not an investment. The more you can spend it on, the more reasons to earn it.

The Signal Chooses (weekly allocation)

Once a week the city allocates resources — a cosmetic frame, a featured citizen slot, a 1/1 mention — to a random active carrier. Participation-based, not pro-rata. Lore-driven, not financial.

Personal-use IP statement per citizen

Every holder gets a clear written license: your citizen is your personal IP. Commercial use requires a separate permission. Brings the city closer to BAYC-style holder rights without taking the full leap.

Public treasury address
